i was reminded again why i hate best buy this week. i had some gift cards to use up so i decided to stop by there and pick up a cable as well as some other things. the cable i grabbed was marked as $20 on the shelf - i thought, "wow, maybe they're not jacking up their prices anymore. i'm impressed!" WRONG!! the item rang up as $60 at the checkout. $60....a freakin' cable....omg wtf lol rofl bbq FUBB! i never make a stink about anything in the store, but i did this time. i busted out laughing at the cash register and asked if the cashier was serious. she confirmed the price so i laughed more and asked her to set the cable aside.
seriously! this store is freakin' ridiculous. also of note, it's one of the few stores i can actually get prompt service, yet i don't want it. i've rarely talked to a calm, knowledgeable, patient, or respectful employee at the store. they always load you full of crap trying to make you buy their product. and what for? they don't make any commission! sure, i suppose each department manager gets a nice check or vacation when his/her reps sell more than any other department, but they have to threaten their employees with poor hours or lure them with incentives in order to make their goals. i HATE being approached in this store.
so, this is my rant: don't be a jackhole, boycott best buy. here's just one example why:

hopefully you didn't misread the title - i'm asking you if your clock is sloppy. is it off by a couple minutes here and there? wanna speed up the interval at which it syncs up to your favorite ntp server? regedit the shit out of it!!in related news, i tried updating mine at work with the windows time server - it failed.... twice. i then tried the nist.gov server... failure.... twice. what the hell, i'll try apple - instant success. some stuff in this world is just messed up.
