blast!

jared bouck over at inventgeek.com executed my plan: an lcd monitor mounted inside his pc case. he used a defunct lcd and fixed it up while he was at it. he used an aluminum case, cut a hole in it, and mounted the lcd panel from the monitor on the inside.

granted, this idea isn't completely original nor 100% practical, but it'd be handy for lanning. in fact, i planned on doing this with one of my 17" samsungs that have built-in PSUs. these monitors are incredibly slim and have a direct 110v feed that i can splice in with my power supply.

jared mentioned at the end of his article that he'd like to put a wireless keyboard and mouse receiver inside the case as well - another concept that i wanted to incorporate in my lan machine. anywho, props to jared for doing a nice job with the mod. i hope to do something similar very soon.
